The ACT test dates differ for US national and Indian candidates. While candidates in the US, itsterritories and Puerto Rico follow ACT exam dates for the USA, the rest of the world including Indian candidates follow non-US exam dates.
The ACT exam is usually held on any two days of a month within a single testing window. Both days have both morning and afternoon sessions. Session availability of both exam days may vary as per the capacity of the test centres. Ideally, a candidate should choose an ACT exam date at least two months ahead of the scholarships and admissions deadlines. In addition, all requests for accommodations (if required) should be submitted by the late registration deadline.

Points to Remember While Choosing the ACT Test Date
A study abroad application requires extensive planning. In a similar vein, you should meticulously organise every move you make when taking the ACT exam to ensure that everything is ready when you start the university application process. While choosing your ACT test date, keep the following in mind:
Consider scheduling the ACT after passing the 10th grade, which introduces you to fundamentals like geometry and algebra among several other things that are covered on the ACT syllabus. However, if you want to take the test before the 10th grade, you can surely do so only for practice.
You must be keenly aware of your university's admissions requirements and application deadlines before registering. Pick a test day at least two to three months well before the application deadline. After two to eight weeks of the test, you will have your ACT report card in your hands.
At least a year before the ACT registration deadline, start studying for the exam.
The test can be taken a maximum of 12 times, but it is advised that you do not take it more than three times.

However, it is also important to select a test date that gives the student ample time to prepare without clashing with academic commitments. If the student is taking the ACT test for the first time, the best time to take the test is in the fall of their senior year. This gives them plenty of time to prepare and plan before the test.
Now, if a student wants to again take the ACT exam to improve their scores or for any other reason then they can definitely take it in the autumn or spring of their junior year. Students should ensure that they have at least three months in hand to prepare for the ACT exam.
